No one knows for sure when (or if?) Tiger Woods will return to PGA Tour play, but his prolonged absence because of a back injury doesn’t mean he’s stepping away from the sport.
The former world No. 1 gave an encouraging update on his condition Wednesday at the grand opening of The Playgrounds at Bluejack National in Texas, a 10-hole, par-3 course that Woods designed for children.
Woods also made something of a return to play, rounding off a playing group with two kids. Coincidentally, Woods was standing on the tee box when 11-year-old Taylor Crozier stepped up to hit his tee shot. According to PGA.com, the shot was the very first hit on the new course, and what a way to start.
Not a bad way to start a round … or a course.
The ace wasn’t Crozier’s only accomplishment of the day. He also beat Woods on the round.
