Let’s try this one more time.
The Boston Red Sox were supposed to open their season Monday against the Indians, but cold temperatures in Cleveland forced Opening Day to be postponed until Tuesday. And the Red Sox will be ready to go with the same lineup they would have trotted out the day before.
Boston’s lineup features the usual suspects, with right fielder Mookie Betts staying in his leadoff spot, followed by Dustin Pedroia, Xander Bogaerts and David Ortiz. Travis Shaw, who won the starting third base job over Pablo Sandoval, bats sixth. Utility man Brock Holt also will get the start in left field with right-handed ace Corey Kluber on the mound for the Indians and bat seventh.
David Price will be on the bump for his Red Sox debut. The lefty is coming off a 2015 season during which he posted an 18-5 record with a 2.45 ERA and 225 strikeouts between the Detroit Tigers and Toronto Blue Jays, finishing second in American League Cy Young voting.
Here are both lineups for take two of the Red Sox and Indians’ Opening Day matchup.
