Red Sox Nation might have an Academy Award-winning actor in its ranks.
Singer Britney Spears dropped a Throwback Thursday Instagram post showing her hanging out with Leonardo DiCaprio — who’s clearly wearing a Boston Red Sox cap.
It’s unclear when the photo was taken, but DiCarprio, who recently won a Best Actor Oscar for his acclaimed role in “The Revenant,” would add even more star power to a celebrity-laden list of Red Sox fans. Perhaps he picked up the hat and his fandom while in Boston shooting the 2006 hit, “The Departed.” Another DiCaprio film, 2010’s “Shutter Island,” was shot throughout Massachusetts, including Boston, Taunton, Medfield, Dedham, Ipswich, Sharon, Hull and Nahant, as well as Bar Harbor, Maine.
