Louisiana Tech basketball player Ashley Santos is not pregnant.

That she felt the need to announce her non-pregnancy Friday on Twitter reflects the farcical situation in which Louisiana Tech’s women’s basketball team currently finds itself, following the scandalous departure of its head coach.

Tyler Summitt, the married son of legendary coach Pat Summitt, resigned Thursday after admitting he had engaged in a relationship with one of his players. Citing multiple sources, SB Nation’s Swish Appeal reported he impregnated one of his players, whose identity remains a secret.

Armchair Sleuths have been trying to find out which player Summitt might have impregnated, asking individual Lady Techsters online and in real life if she is the one.

Well, Santos has gone public. It’s not her.

This reverse Maury Povich situation probably will deteriorate further before it improves or stops altogether.
