Finally, somebody remembered we’re supposed to give Kobe Bryant a hard time.

In the midst of the Los Angeles Lakers legend’s final season, Bryant has been showered with gifts and praise. But “Late Night” host Seth Meyers remembered what being a fan of any team but the Lakers is all about, as he threw a jab at one of the NBA’s best.

Bryant historically has been a ball hog, of course. Then again, when you’re as talented a scorer as Bryant, who ranks third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, who can really blame him? He’s also been surrounded by a flaky cast of characters a few times throughout his 20-year career.

But that doesn’t mean Bryant gets a free pass. And on the final day of an illustrious but tumultuous career, we’re sure Bryant wouldn’t want it any other way.
