Xander Bogaerts Leaves Red Sox’s Game Vs. Rays With Left Quad Tightness
BOSTON — Xander Bogaerts has a lot of hustle, but that might have worked against him Wednesday.
The Red Sox shortstop left their game against the Tampa Bay Rays after the fifth inning, when he scored from first base on a double off the bat of David Ortiz. Something appeared to bother Bogaerts after he rounded second.
The Red Sox announced it was left quad tightness and that Bogaerts is considered day-to-day.
Bogaerts was 2-for-3 with a two runs and an RBI before leaving. He was replaced by Brock Holt, while Chris Young took over in left field.
