Klay Thompson Sets NBA Record As Warriors Stun Thunder, Force Game 7

Stephen Curry might be the MVP, but Klay Thompson was the catalyst for the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.

The defending NBA champions trailed for the majority of Game 6 of the Western Conference finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder but rallied to win 108-101 on the road and force a decisive Game 7. Thompson was nearly unstoppable, scoring a game-high 41 points and draining 11 3-pointers, breaking the previous NBA playoff single-game record of nine.

Curry finished an assist shy of a triple-double, tallying 29 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

For the Thunder, Kevin Durant led the way with 29 points and seven rebounds, while Russell Westbrook added 28 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds.

OKC previously led this best-of-seven series three games to one, but it now must win Game 7 on the road at Oracle Arena for a chance to meet LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

Game 7 is set for Monday at 9 p.m. ET.
