Stephen Curry Scores 17 Points In Overtime Alone As Warriors Win Game 4

After sitting out four games with a knee injury, Curry came back with a vengeance Monday night in Game 4 of the Golden State Warriors’ second-round playoff series with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The NBA’s Most Valuable Player began the game on the bench but finished with 40 points — including an NBA-record 17 in overtime — as the Warriors won 132-125 to push the Blazers to the brink of elimination.

Curry outscored Portland by himself in the five-minute overtime session, burying circus shot after circus shot before a stunned Moda Center crowd.

Golden State now can secure a second consecutive Western Conference finals appearance with a win Wednesday on home court in Game 5.

“I just want to make an announcement before we start,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said to begin his postgame news conference. “Steph will start on Wednesday night. In case anyone was wondering.”
