Dion Lewis, Rob Gronkowski Make Offseason Debuts At Patriots OTAs

FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots waited until the final week of their offseason workout program to let running back Dion Lewis and tight end Rob Gronkowski take the practice field.

Lewis, seven months removed from surgery to repair a torn left ACL, participated in Monday’s organized team activities session. Gronkowski has been held out of practice for precautionary measures, but he also appeared Monday.

Lewis participated in some team drills and most positional drills. Gronkowski sat out of all full-speed team drills but participated in individual and positional work.

Guard Shaq Mason also practiced for the first time this spring.

Kicker Stephen Gostkowski, wide receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, cornerback Logan Ryan, running backs D.J. Foster and LeGarrette Blount, safeties Duron Harmon and Nate Ebner, long snapper Joe Cardona, offensive linemen Tre’ Jackson, Josh Kline, Sebastian Vollmer and Nate Solder and defensive tackle Alan Branch were absent from Monday’s session. It was Gostkowski and Foster’s first absences of the spring. Foster tweaked his hamstring Thursday during minicamp.
