Julian Edelman: ‘Great To See Tom Brady Throw Footballs’ At Best Buddies Event

BOSTON — Tom Brady had plenty of support from current and former New England Patriots teammates at Friday night’s Best Buddies Football Challenge at Harvard Stadium.

Patriots running backs Dion Lewis and James White, wide receiver Danny Amendola and defensive end Rob Ninkovich all played in Brady’s charity touch football game. Retired Patriots Dan Koppen, Tedy Bruschi and Scott Zolak also took part in the event.

Wide receiver Julian Edelman had a walking boot on his left foot after undergoing offseason surgery, so he couldn’t play in the game, but he cheered from the sideline.

“Every year the crowd gets bigger,” Edelman said. “It’s great to see Tom Brady throw footballs to celebrities, buddies … It’s a fun thing to see, and it’s one of those things where you look forward to it every year.”

Edelman was asked how the recovery is going on his left foot.

“We’re not here to talk about that,” Edelman said. “We’re here to talk about Best Buddies.”
