Travis Shaw Sets New Personal Best With Massive Solo Homer Vs. Rays

Travis Shaw had gone quite a while without a home run entering Tuesday night, but it appears he channeled all that built-up power into one swing.

The Boston Red Sox third baseman came to the plate against Tampa Bay Rays starter Chris Archer in the second inning and proceeded to crush a solo homer deep into the Tropicana Field seats to put the Red Sox on the board.

Shaw’s bomb was his eighth homer of the season and his first since May 28, ending a homerless streak of 27 games. It also was hit very, very hard and traveled very, very far.

The Red Sox’s longest homer of the season belongs to Hanley Ramirez, who hit a towering 468-foot shot back on May 10. But Shaw’s wasn’t too shabby, either.
