Kevin Durant Almost Said ‘OK, Let’s Go’ To Tom Brady, Celtics After Meeting

Even other star athletes can become a bit starstruck in the presence of Tom Brady.

The New England Patriots quarterback was among the delegation the Boston Celtics brought to their meeting with then-free agent Kevin Durant earlier this month, and that move apparently almost paid off for the C’s in a big way.

“I was ready to just say, ‘OK. Lets go.’ It’s great to be in the presence of such greatness,” Durant said Monday, via ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. “But at the same time I knew I couldn’t let that distract me.”

Instead, Durant made the controversial decision to join the Golden State Warriors, forming an even more super team with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. But the Celtics reportedly were one of his finalists, and their decision to bring along Brady certainly appears to have been a smart one.
