NBA Rumors: Mavericks Sign Harrison Barnes, Trade For Andrew Bogut

The Golden State Warriors got their man in Kevin Durant, but that means they still have to make some hard roster decisions to create cap space.

But it appears that process got underway pretty quickly Monday, with the Dallas Mavericks being the big beneficiary.

The Mavericks agreed to a four-year, $94 million contract with restricted free agent Harrison Barnes, and Dallas also struck a deal with the Warriors for Andrew Bogut, sources told ESPN’s Marc Stein.

Bogut is set to make $11 million in 2016-17, so he always was a likely candidate for a trade if Durant chose the Warriors. The 11-year NBA veteran, who missed the last two games of the NBA Finals with an injury, averaged 5.4 points and seven rebounds per game for Golden State last season. Barnes, meanwhile, averaged 11.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest.
