O.J. Mayo ‘Dismissed And Disqualified’ From NBA Over Drug Program Violation

NBA free agents have been cashing in with huge contracts, but O.J. Mayo won’t earn a piece of the pie.

The league announced Friday that Mayo has been “dismissed and disqualified” from the NBA after violating its anti-drug policy.

Mayo can apply for reinstatement in two years. The league didn’t disclose the specifics of what Mayo violated.

The 28-year-old was entering free agency after spending three seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. He averaged 7.8 points in 26.6 minutes per game during his injury-shortened 2015-16 campaign.
