Ronda Rousey Determined To Be UFC Champion Again: ‘I Want My Belt Back’

Ronda Rousey still is the most recognizable UFC fighter in the women’s division, and her career appears far from over.

She’s determined to take back the bantamweight title she once held for well over a year.

“I want to win my belt back,” Rousey said at a conference hosted by Robin Roberts in Chicago on Friday.

Rousey hasn’t fought since her shocking loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 last November. Holm defeated the previously unbeaten Rousey with a powerful kick in Round 2 to claim the title.

Dealing with the loss hasn’t been easy for Rousey, but she received some good advice from her mother.

“My mom pulled me to the side of the may and said, ‘I’m going to tell you what my coach told me. Winning is a (expletive) but revenge is an (expletive).'”

Holm’s reign as champion was short lived, though. She lost the belt to Miesha Tate at UFC 196, and then Tate lost it last weekend to Amanda Nunes at UFC 200.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

Tate could be out until 2017 because of a medical suspension stemming from her broken nose suffered against Nunes. Therefore, we should expect Rousey to be among the first, if not the first opponent for Nunes as she attempts to defend her new belt.

What we do know is Rousey returning to the UFC with a title on the line would be fantastic for the sport, especially after the controversy that impacted UFC 200.
