Superstar point guard Russell Westbrook reportedly plans to renegotiate his contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder, thus extending it through 2017-18 with a player option for the season after that.
His Thunder teammate, Enes Kanter, understandably is thrilled with the decision. Kanter took to Twitter on Thursday to voice his excitement and do a bit of trolling, too.
First, he trolled Los Angeles Lakers fans, many of whom believed Westbrook would return home as a free agent next summer after playing for UCLA in college.
Stop refreshing the page Lol
it's true 😂😂 https://t.co/WxyZUHImWN— Enes Kanter FREEDOM (@EnesFreedom) August 4, 2016
Then, he took a jab at former teammate Kevin Durant, who left the Thunder as a free agent to join the Golden State Warriors last month.
I ain't gonna join the enemy
I'm here to compete https://t.co/2Elu93b4P5— Enes Kanter FREEDOM (@EnesFreedom) August 4, 2016
Kanter seems pretty happy, but the Thunder still are a long way from being a real contender for an NBA championship.
