Sorry, LeBron James. Sorry, Stephen Curry. Sorry, Kevin Durant.
While those players and several other superstars represent the foundation of today’s NBA, Michael Jordan wouldn’t choose any of them to be the star of “Space Jam 2.”
Jordan, the star of the original “Space Jam” movie, was asked recently while talking with kids at his Flight School summer camp who he’d pick to be the star of the much-anticipated sequel if he had the choice. The NBA legend revealed he’d choose Blake Griffin, which is somewhat surprising given that the Los Angeles Clippers star’s popularity seemingly dipped last season, when he was injured and punched a team staffer in the face.
Nevertheless, Griffin is an entertaining dude, so it’s not necessarily a bad pick. Plus, he can dunk with the best of them, so that would serve Griffin well in the Tune Squad’s quest to take down the Monstars.
This, of course, is all based on the assumption that “Space Jam 2” ever actually comes to fruition.
