Olympic Men’s Golf Results: Justin Rose Wins Gold In Thrilling Final Round

Yes, the Olympic men’s golf tournament was without many of the sport’s biggest stars, but it still was a Sunday for the ages in Rio de Janeiro.

Great Britain’s Justin Rose claimed the first golf gold medal in 112 years, thanks to a birdie on the 18th hole.

Rose finished the four rounds with a 16-under-par 268, including a 4-under round Sunday.

Sweden’s Henrik Stenson was tied with Rose heading into the final hole, but he had to settle for silver after he bogeyed No. 18. He finished two shots behind Rose at 14 under.

The United States also reached the medal podium, thanks to Matt Kuchar’s incredible 8-under 63 on Sunday, which moved him all the way up to 13 under.
