Tom Brady Reportedly Won’t Practice With Patriots On Sunday, Monday

Tom Brady will not join his New England Patriots teammates at practice Sunday or Monday, according to a report from CSNNE.com’s Tom E. Curran.

The quarterback was excused from the two days of practice, a source told Curran on Sunday, and his absence reportedly is not injury-related.

Brady did not play in either of the Patriots’ first two preseason games. He missed the first to attend a memorial service for a family member, then was a late scratch for the second Thursday night after reportedly slicing his thumb on a pair of scissors shortly before the game.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick did not confirm that Brady had injured himself, saying he made the decision not to play the veteran signal-caller.

Jimmy Garoppolo, who is set to begin the regular season as New England’s starting quarterback while Brady serves his four-game Deflategate suspension, started both games.

The Patriots visit the Carolina Panthers this Friday for preseason game No. 3.
