A’s Ballboy Makes Valiant Effort To Catch Foul Ball, Misses At Chris Smith’s Expense

Has Major League Baseball started awarding Gold Gloves to ballboys and ballgirls without telling anyone?

We only ask because one Oakland Athletics ballboy risked his body to snag a foul ball Monday at O.co Coliseum. Judging from his effort, we assume there’s a trophy, or perhaps a big-league tryout, at stake.

Why else would he make such a valiant effort?
