Jacoby Brissett Named One Of Patriots’ Practice Players Of The Week

FOXBORO, Mass. — Apparently, New England Patriots rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett had a solid week of practice before he was called into action Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

Brissett was named one of the Patriots’ practice players of the week for his work leading up to the team’s game against the Dolphins. Rookie linebacker Elandon Roberts and practice squad defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton also earned the honor.

It’s possible Brissett was named one of the Patriots’ practice players of the week for imitating Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The Patriots beat the Dolphins 31-24 in the Week 2 matchup.

Brissett completed 6 of 9 passes for 92 yards in two-plus quarters under center. He could start the Patriots’ Week 3 matchup against the Houston Texans depending on the severity of Jimmy Garoppolo’s shoulder injury.
