Red Sox Vs. Yankees Lineup: Andrew Benintendi Starts In Series Opener

BOSTON — The Red Sox have been without Andrew Benintendi for nearly a month, but he’s back in the lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the New York Yankees at Fenway Park.

The 22-year-old left fielder has been on the disabled list since Aug. 24, when he sprained his left knee running the bases against the Tampa Bay Rays. Benintendi was reinstated from the DL on Tuesday, but Thursday will be his first game back, playing left field and batting ninth.

Eduardo Rodriguez is starting for the Red Sox, and he’ll be looking to kick off the Yankees series on a good note after Boston dropped its last series to the Baltimore Orioles. The lefty might have a good shot, too, as he’s 4-1 with a 1.88 ERA in six career starts against New York. Rodriguez also has been performing well in the second half, boasting a 2.76 ERA since the All-Star Game.

Here are both teams’ lineups for Thursday.
