The Tennessee Titans began their NFL Week 10 game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday on a high note. The same can’t be said for their starting left tackle.
The Titans took a 14-0 first quarter lead at Nissan Stadium thanks to the heroics of DeMarco Murray. But they also lost Taylor Lewan for the remainder of the game. Why, you ask? Because he did this:
Taylor Lewan ejection is a perfect example of why ratings are horrible. How is ref safety > player safety?😏 #Titans https://t.co/X2CXgJPNCx

Lewan, arguably Tennessee’s best offensive lineman, got into it with Packers defensive lineman Letroy Guion, and when an official tried to intervene, Lewan dismissed him with a shove.
The 2014 first round pick didn’t hit the ref very hard, but you can’t make contact with an official like that, and the play earned Lewan an immediate ejection.
Here is back judge Steve Freeman's hand on @TaylorLewan77. Lewan swiped it away and was ejected. 11th NFL ejection on season. #Titans pic.twitter.com/kdXy3JLR2k

That’s a pretty bad lapse in judgment by Lewan, as the Titans had momentum on their side after a strong start but now will be without a key offensive cog for the rest of the game.
