Donald Trump’s relationship with Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots received plenty of attention during the election, and that continued Saturday during the president-elect’s appearance at M&T Bank Stadium for the Army-Navy game.
Trump stopped by the CBS booth to talk with Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson at the tail end of halftime and the beginning of the third quarter. They spoke about a wide range of topics, including one that probably got the attention of Pats fans.
“I’m very close with Coach Belichick, and he is a phenomenal man,” Trump said. “You could put him in a company, you could put him anywhere and he’d do well.”

As you probably know, Belichick wrote a congratulatory letter to Trump for his campaign and called him the ultimate competitor and fighter.” Trump read the letter aloud during a New Hampshire rally prior to the election, and he also told the crowd Brady voted for him.
The moment that has received most of the attention, though, was when the president-elect took a bit of a shot at the quality of play by Navy and Army.

It actually turned into a pretty good game, as Army beat No. 25 Navy for the first time since 2001, 21-17.
