Glen “Big Baby” Davis had some explaining to do.
And, for better or for worse, he did some explaining.
The former NBA forward — best known for his days with the Boston Celtics — was arrested in February after police found over a quarter-pound of marijuana and more than $90,000 cash in an Aberdeen, Md., hotel room he was occupying, WMAR-TV reported Friday. In addition to the money and marijuana, police also found “a ledger that contained language which is consistent with someone involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics,” according to Aberdeen Police Lieutenant William Reiber, via WMAR-TV.
After news broke, Davis took to Instagram to share a reaction video, which features him sitting in a jet, flanked by copious amounts of fried chicken, a briefcase full of money and his 2008 Celtics NBA championship ring. He also had some rather interesting things to say.
“Don’t believe all that s— on the internet,” Davis said in the video. “I will have my day in court. They just mad because a black man got money, man. Just trying to keep a black man down, man.
” … My s— legal, man. A lot of jump shots. A whole lot of jump shots.”
Make of those comments what you will.
Davis, 32, reportedly is due in court in April. He last played in the NBA during the 2014-15 season with the Los Angeles Clippers.
