Halftime (And Final) Score Of UConn Women’s Basketball Game Was Absurd

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: The UConn women’s basketball team is really, really good.

The Huskies once again are the prohibitive favorites to win the national championship, and they began their quest for a 12th title with a record-setting performance Saturday afternoon. Top-seeded UConn drew 16th-seeded St. Francis in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament, and, well, things didn’t go so hot for the Red Flash.

Check out some of the stats from the Huskies’ 140-52 win, which included a 94-31 lead at halftime:

Wow.

Double-wow. To put that score into context: UConn still would’ve won even if it hadn’t scored a single basket after the first quarter.

Perhaps the victim of national fatigue, UConn managed to fly under the radar this year with another perfect record. At 33-0, it seems inevitable the Huskies cut down the nets by tournament’s end.

Then again, everyone thought that last year, until Mississippi State’s Morgan William hit a buzzer-beater to snap UConn’s 111-game win streak and give the Bulldogs 66-64 overtime victory in the Final Four.
