Round and round the Kirk Cousins carousel goes — where it stops, nobody knows.
Well, Adam Schefter sort of has an idea.
Cousins, who soon will be an unrestricted free agent, is the hottest name on the market — and for good reason. Starting NFL quarterbacks don’t grow on trees, let alone ones as talented as the 29-year-old longtime Washington Redskin.
And once Cousins officially puts Washington in the rearview, he’s expected to choose between these four NFL teams, according to Schefter:
The final four teams expected to be vying for free-agent quarterback Kirk Cousins are the Broncos, Cardinals, Jets and Vikings, per league sources.

So, let’s look the current quarterback situations for the Denver Broncos, the Arizona Cardinals, the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings.
— Broncos: Trevor Siemian isn’t very good, neither is Paxton Lynch.
— Jets: Christian Hackenberg hasn’t impressed, neither has Bryce Petty.
— Cardinals: Drew Stanton, Blaine Gabbert and Matt Barkley. Enough said.
— Vikings: Is Chase Keenum the QB who looked great last season, or the one who looked terrible the previous five seasons? Is Teddy Bridgewater worth the injury risk?
The conclusion: Each of these teams should do whatever they can to bring Cousins into the fold. The Broncos and the Vikings, in particular, immediately would become Super Bowl contenders with Cousins on the roster.
We still don’t understand why the Redskins won’t just pay this guy.
