BOSTON — The 2019 Beanpot marks the first time since 2014 in which neither Boston University nor Harvard University will participate in the championship game.
The No. 18 Crimson enter Monday’s consolation game after falling to Boston College in the semifinals 2-1. BU was able to push the reigning Beanpot champion Northeastern Huskies to overtime but fell 2-1 despite an outstanding 47-save effort from goaltender Jake Oettinger.
BU and Harvard last squared up in a thrilling overtime game Jan. 8 with the game ending in a 2-2 tie.
