Red Sox Reliever John Schreiber Making Strides Towards MLB Return

The Sox right-handed slugger enters the All-Star break hot behind the plate

The Red Sox stole a win from the Oakland Athletics on Sunday after trailing for the majority of the game before the bats came alive late to propel Boston to a 4-3 win and a series sweep.

During two of the three games in the series, the Sox trusted their bullpen to start the game as they are currently dealing with injuries in their starting rotation. And more help could be coming to Boston’s bullpen as John Schreiber continues to make rehab appearances for Triple-A Worcester as he inches closer to a return to Boston.

In his latest outing, Schreiber pitched a full inning allowing just one hit, no runs, no walks, and one strikeout.

The Red Sox enter the MLB All-Star break just two games back of the final American League wild-card spot after a five-game winning streak, and getting some healthy bodies in the rotation and lineup can help extend that streak after the break.
