Isaiah Wynn won't suit up in Week 8
The New England Patriots will follow up their shocking victory over the Buffalo Bills with yet another division rival matchup in Week 8, this time against the Miami Dolphins.
That was supposed to be a reunion battle for former New England offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn, however, the 27-year-old who spent four seasons with the Patriots after being drafted in the first round in 2018, won’t be suiting up.
Wynn was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, according to a team-provided update, after sustaining a quad injury during Sunday’s Week 7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The move is expected to sideline Wynn for a multi-week span.

“We are getting more information, but it does look like it will be weeks, as it wasn’t a bump or a bruise,” Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN. “We’ll gather more for specificity, but it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing him for weeks.”
After signing a one-year deal with Miami in the offseason, Wynn started all seven games for the Dolphins. Going down, however, the Dolphins will miss a five-year veteran with a decent reliability track record, starting 47-of-50 career games outside of Wynn’s 2018 season-ending torn ACL injury during Patriots preseason action.
In correspondence to Wynn going down, the Dolphins activated 26-year-old cornerback Nik Needham.
New England (2-5) and Miami (5-2) will kick off from Hard Rock Stadium at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
