Monday night saw a slugger that was once tied to the Boston Red Sox take home a first of this title for his organization.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández finished with 49 total home runs to win the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby during All-Star festivities in Texas at Globe Life Field.

Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. had one more total home run than Hernández, though the Dodgers outfielder took home the title with one more homer in the finals.

This year's installment had new rules with the top four total sluggers moving on from the initial field of eight contestants. From there, the previous bracket style took back over to lead the MLB power hitters to an ultimate champion.

Hernández became the first Dodger to win MLB's power contest. As for the aforementioned Red Sox, David Ortiz took home Boston's lone title in the event back in 2010 at Angel Stadium.
