Drake Maye is the centerpiece of the future for the New England Patriots.

The franchise came to that decision after an extensive process leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft where New England selected the North Carolina product with the third overall pick.

Before the draft ultimately led him to the Patriots, Maye met with several teams interested in the young quarterback, including the New York Giants.

The Giants are currently the focus of the offseason installment of HBO's "Hard Knocks" docuseries. The most recent episode peeled back the curtain on New York's meeting with Maye, which included time dissecting plays and formations on the white boards.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll threw plenty of curveballs at Maye as he described formations, checks and routes in addition to reciting the play call back to the staff.

As shown in the clip, the now-Patriots quarterback appeared to hold his own.

The Giants held the No. 6 overall selection and eventually took LSU receiver Malik Nabers three spots after the Patriots took Maye. Last season, New York escaped with a win over New England that ultimately had rather significant impact on the eventual draft order.

Both teams now move forward with a new young addition on the offensive side of the football.
