Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon caused quite the stir Monday when he elected to sit out of practice and eventually was sent off the field after an animated conversation with Jerod Mayo.
How did Judon respond during New England's next practice? He didn't show back up to Gillette Stadium.
Judon was not at the facility Tuesday, according to Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston, as there's a sizable gap between what the 31-year-old is looking for in a new contract and what the Patriots have offered.
Judon has been vocal regarding his desire for a new contract and appeared to let his contract frustrations boil over to an uncomfortable point Monday. The star pass-rusher wore street clothes and sat atop a stack of pads -- and later a trash can -- as he watched practice from afar. Mayo clearly didn't like the public display, leading to the eventual departure of his star player from the day's proceedings.

New England appears to be headed backward.
The Patriots will soon have to find a resolution to their Judon problem, and it now appears as though that resolution comes in the form of a roster move rather than a contract extension. New England technically has time, but it's starting to run out.
