BOSTON -- The Red Sox on Sunday added to their bullpen amid a critical juncture of the season.
Boston claimed right-handed pitcher Yohan Ramírez off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers, per a team release.
Ramírez appeared in 27 games for the Dodgers this season, posting a 5.52 ERA while striking out 8.3 batters per nine innings and tallied a save for Los Angeles. This move coincided with Boston designating Chase Anderson and Reese McGuire for assignment.
The Red Sox landed another arm in a time of dire need with Chris Martin and Justin Slaten still out with injuries, placing heavy usage on Kenley Jansen and several middle relievers.
