The Boston Red Sox have grinded through 95 games to become as successful as they are.

Through all of what the team has been through, they also have gotten close in the clubhouse as well. It doesn't matter if it's Jarren Duran hustling to second base or Ceddanne Rafaela making a crazy outfield assist. The Red Sox bounce off each other's success.

With all the unexpected wins Boston has had comes hate, but they are not listening to it.

"I think people just think what they want about us and we're just going to keep grinding," Duran said, per NESN's postgame coverage. "We're a good team, we're scrappy and we're doing really good right now. We're just trying to have some fun. So, we'll let everybody think what they want but as a team we're with each other, we love each other and we're here to play some ball."

Duran is one of many Boston hitters that had a successful Sunday afternoon against the Kansas City Royals. He went 4-for-5, including his hustle double in the first inning to lead off.

The All-Star credited his teammates for getting him hyped up while he celebrated his double.

"It's a pretty good feeling because I always got my boys behind me and they were going super hype, so it was getting me excited," Duran said about the double.

Heading into the season, the Red Sox were not expected to be where they are before the All-Star break.

Now, with the 5-4 win over the Royals, Boston sits in the third spot in the Wild Card and are 3.5 games back from the New York Yankees.

While there is still a long way to go in the season, the Red Sox have put themselves in a solid position to make a postseason run in October.
