The Boston Red Sox return to Fenway Park with momentum from a 5-1 road trip and a series victory over the New York Yankees over the weekend.
With the off-day on Monday, the Red Sox made a transaction by optioning Cam Booser back to Triple-A Worcester, per a team release. The left-hander holds a 3.00 ERA in 27 appearances for Boston this season and likely got the option in a pending roster shuffle.
The Red Sox did recently make a swap of minor-league arms that adds depth before the series with the Oakland Athletics at Fenway Park.
Meanwhile in Worcester, right-handed pitcher Cooper Criswell picked up International League Player of the Week honors after a tremendous start last time out with six innings of one-hit ball with eight strikeouts.
