Red Sox manager Alex Cora has been involved in Major League Baseball for the better half of three decades, so that means he's been to New York City dozens of times.
Who would have thought this trip, for a random series in July, would become one of his most eventful?
The Red Sox got things off to a great start Friday, as Masataka Yoshida and Ceddanne Rafaela belted a pair of clutch home runs to help them steal a victory from the Yankees. Cora had to work his magic to set the table, though, going to his bench and subbing Dom Smith into the contest -- which allowed things to get to Yoshida in the bottom of the ninth.
It was tremendous by Cora, but he didn't get much time to enjoy it as he found himself in a sticky situation Saturday.

"(I ran) four and a half (miles this morning), Central Park, (and) got lost," Cora told reporters at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, per Ian Browne of MLB.com. "Yeah, at one point I was somewhere and I was like, 'No, I'm not supposed to be here.' I was actually two miles away from the hotel. I was like you know what, I'm going to Uber to the hotel."
Cora, much like the rest of us, probably didn't feel much confidence in pushing himself past four miles. Central Park is absolutely massive, after all.
Boston will hope to make his trouble worth it Saturday, having an opportunity to win its series against New York in a matinee matchup.
