With Patriots training camp kicking off at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday, New England players have shown excitement towards Day 1.
The enthusiasm of the players has even gotten Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo excited to start camp. While New England currently is not projected to do the best in the regular season, Mayo is hopeful that training camp will allow players to get better.
"I'm most excited just about the excitement that the players show on a day after day basis," Mayo told reporters, per team-provided video. "They are coming in there with great energy and look, as the season continues to progress, we'll get better each and every week. This is really the foundation right now during training camp that we pull together. We got a lot of players that, once again, those guys are excited to come out here and work and compete and that's the message that I'm going to be preaching to them."
Mayo came into camp with a big smile when talking to reporters, also joking around with them during his availability before training camp.
