If Boston fans happened to come across the pregame festivities for the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, they would have recognized a pair of familiar faces.
Celtics star Jayson Tatum and Florida Panthers standout Matthew Tkachuk, a pair of St. Louis natives, threw out the first pitch at Busch Stadium a few months after winning championships in their respective leagues.
Tatum led the Celtics to their first championship since 2008 while Tkachuk and the Panthers, who defeated the Boston Bruins in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, took home their inaugural Stanley Cup.

It’s been a busy summer for Tatum, who took a strange path to an Olympic gold medal after winning his first NBA title.
As the summer starts to wind down, Tatum's focus will shift back to Boston with the Celtics officially set to begin their title defense on Oct. 22 against the New York Knicks at TD Garden.
