Mac Jones probably won't see much -- if any -- playing time with the Jaguars this season, but he's finding ways to stand out in Jacksonville.
Jones, a Jacksonville native, is back in Northern Florida following an offseason trade between the Patriots and the Jaguars. The 2021 first-round pick went from starting quarterback in New England to a backup to newly extended franchise signal-caller Trevor Lawrence.
While Jones' NFL career hasn't panned out as he'd hoped, he's not letting setbacks impact his attitude. The Alabama product is having fun in Jacksonville, so much fun that he sometimes annoys his new head coach.
"He's going to have a fun time no matter what," Doug Pederson told reporters last week, per Alabama.com. "I think that's just his personality. He's great in the locker room, great with the guys. Sometimes he drives us crazy with some of the stuff he does or says. But it's good. I think it's really good because when he gets in there, it's business, and he's a competitor and he loves to compete."

Jones made his Jaguars preseason debut Saturday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 25-year-old entered the game after Lawrence and C.J. Beathard and completed 9-of-11 pass attempts for 98 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in the second half.
The former Patriot should see more playing time in Jacksonville's final two preseason contests, but it won't be long until he's back on the bench. Jones all but surely will be a spectator when New England visits Jacksonville for a Week 7 clash on Oct. 20.
