Kayshon Boutte called his shot earlier in training camp with a confident stance on his future with the New England Patriots.

He turned in a pivotal catch in the preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers in a solid effort. He followed that up with three more catches, including a one-handed snag over his had on a pass from Drake Maye, on Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Boutte's rookie season was a wash and he faces plentiful competition for a roster spot with a number of young pass-catchers for the Patriots. So far in this camp, his key peers see the growth he's making this summer for the Patriots.

"He's making a great case," Jerod Mayo told reporters, per team-provided video. "It seems like every day he's making plays. He's running good routes. He has good hands. The run-after-the-catch ability, it's all there. Now, it's about just gaining the trust, not only of your teammates but also the coaches. He definitely has a chance."

"Boutte's done a good job of getting better each and every week and understanding the plan," Brissett told reporters, per team-provided video. "It's clear every time he's out there he's making the most of his opportunities. That's what you want from anybody on this team. I think he's doing a good job of that. That confidence in us and himself and everybody is just gonna continue to go."

The LSU put together two straight games with multiple grabs and hopes to add another exclamation point this summer to ensure his roster security with the Patriots.
