The New England Patriots offensive line was a mess in the preseason finale, but things took a turn for the worst when Sidy Sow went down with an ankle injury.

Sow was sidelined for the rest of the second half and reportedly was seen in a walking boot. The 26-year-old is one of the few reliable offensive linemen the Patriots can rely on, so his loss obviously would be huge for whoever the starting quarterback will be.

Head coach Jerod Mayo on Wednesday was asked if his team "dodged a bullet" with the Sow injury.

"That's how it looks right now," Mayo told reporters, per a team-provided video.

Sow was drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft and played 13 games last season. The injury obviously wasn't serious enough to put the Eastern Michigan product on the physical unable to perform list, so it seems like New England will monitor it leading up to Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was seen wearing a soft brace in the locker room Wednesday, per Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal.

Another offensive lineman dealing with an injury was Vederian Lowe, who reportedly is dealing with a "minor" ailment. Mayo didn't offer much details on the 25-year-old's injury.

The Patriots on Wednesday claimed four players off waivers, including two offensive linemen.
