Judd Sirott Excited To Pair With Andy Brickley As Bruins Broadcast Team

Sirott will join Brickley in the NESN booth this fall

Judd Sirott has been calling Boston Bruins games on 98.5 The Sports Hub with Bob Beers for the last seven years. For the upcoming NHL season, Sirott will move one booth over at TD Garden to replace the retired Jack Edwards as the new voice of the Bruins for NESN.

“I would not have this opportunity without his help, his support, his friendship,” Sirott told reporters during his introductory press conference on Thursday. “Jack was original. Jack loved his Bruins. He brought that passion to every single game, and he’s going to be missed.”

Edwards announced his decision to retire in April after calling Bruins games for NESN for the last two decades. The fan favorite took a moment to congratulate Sirott with a social media post on X.

After working with Beers for nearly a decade, Sirott is just as excited to build his partnership with NESN analyst Andy Brickley.

“When I think about Brick, what separates him and what makes him one of the premier NHL television analysts is there are so few guys that can see the game at that high a level,” Sirott said. “What really separates him is his ability to easily, clearly and quickly tell you that during the course of a broadcast.”

Sirott continued: “We’re talking about a guy … listen, he’s intensely bright, crushing crosswords left and right. There is nobody faster in the National Hockey League with a line or a quip. Just a tremendous storyteller. … You’re talking about an elite talent in the booth for the Bruins.”

NESN told Sirott he would be auditioning for the position by calling the Jan. 6 Bruins game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Even though Sirott had already called the game for radio, he still prepared for the game the same way he would if it were live. However, the game did have a little bit more meaning — Jan. 6 is his birthday.

“It’s not necessarily that I remember some of the calls, but I went back and watched the game,” Sirott explained. “I remember what happened. What I do during the course of the year for all 82 games plus playoffs and preseason, I take a snapshot of my notes, some of the stories and some nuggets that I’d like to get to during a broadcast I save for every single game.

“I pulled up my notes and some of the stories I had, but at the same time, I wanted to try to come to it with fresh eyes and fresh ears and some fresh ideas,”
