Last week felt like a tease with Drake Maye playing just two series in the preseason opener for the New England Patriots against the Carolina Panthers.
In the second matchup of the preseason, Maye already has more reps and closed out the first half with a statement.
On 3rd-and-goal against the Philadelphia Eagles, Maye pulled a handoff from JaMycal Hasty and ran it in himself for a four-yard touchdown to put the Patriots in front with his first touchdown in NFL action.

It's the preseason, but that's an encouraging look for the Patriots.
Through the air, Maye spread the ball around during his first-half reps, going five-for-seven for 47 yards as a passer as the Patriots took a 10-3 lead into the break.
Maye is expected to play into the start of the third quarter with Joe Milton III and Bailey Zappe to follow.
