The New England Patriots have struggled mightily on the offensive line this training camp as one of the summer's central storylines.
In Sunday's preseason finale against the Washington Commanders, the Patriots took another hit that the group certainly did not need given the already unclear state of the unit.
Guard Sidy Sow departed from the game during the first half with an ankle injury. He was originally listed as questionable before the Patriots ruled him out to start the second half, per a team release.
Sow had been mixing in with the starting unit and had previous familiarity in New England when he started 13 games for the Patriots last season.

New England also saw Christian Elliss exit the game with a head injury after making a team-high 11 tackles on the night.
With just two weeks before the season opener in Cincinnati Bengals, the Patriots have more decisions to make up front for a group that will determine the season's trajectory through the ability to protect the quarterback, whether that may be Jacoby Brissett or Drake Maye.
