The New England Patriots watched another big-name wide receiver head elsewhere in free agency, this time to an AFC East rival.
Odell Beckham Jr. inked a deal this offseason with the Miami Dolphins, marking his third team since 2021. He did not sign with a team in 2022 after sustaining an ACL injury after a hot start to Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams.
The three-time Pro Bowler joined a loaded receiver room headlined by the speedy duo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Instead of being ready to roll for Week 1, Beckham Jr. is on the shelf for the first four games as he found himself on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list during Miami's cutdown to the 53-man roster.
Beckham Jr.'s undisclosed injury leaves an ominous situation for depth for the Dolphins, though Miami will have plenty of production from their two stars at the position.

The Patriots had been connected to Beckham Jr. at various times over the last several years. His latest update seems like New England made a business decision as they move forward with young receivers Demario "Pop" Douglas and Ja'Lynn Polk rising as the future of the position in New England.
