Patriots wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk isn't interested in bandwagon support.

"I keep notes on everything," Polk said Thursday. "I see all the stuff they put out there about us... so if you're not with us right now, when it's all said and done, don't get on the train."

It's been a staple of the 22-year-old's mindset since he was drafted in April.

He doesn't care for the criticism New England's receiving group has been the focus of this offseason, making that stance clear on social media and in interviews. It's been a way for the rookie to display leadership, which has been noted by Jerod Mayo.

"I've been a huge fan of Polk since scouting (the 2024 class)," Mayo said Thursday. "He's just one of those guys that when he puts the pads on, he's that much better. He does the dirty work. He also can run great routes, has great hands. He's one of those just all-around players that you want to build your team around, and I would also say he does flash some leadership ability, which I definitely appreciate."

What does that leadership look like?

"My job is to know what I'm doing at all times," Polk said. "I don't want to just know one thing, I want to know everything. That's my mindset, understanding everyone around me -- their assignments. When we get into tough situations or we're facing some type of adversity, I want to be able to communicate and help those around me."

Polk, just months into his career, is putting the team first in every aspect. He's also been pretty damn good on the field.
