The Boston Red Sox are off Thursday, and Jason Varitek had a meaningful day off.
Catherine Varitek shared on social media a picture of her husband helping Brianna Wakefield pack her belongings as she heads off to Boston College.
“Uncle Jason packing up Brianna as she heads off to @BostonCollege today,” Catherine Varitek posted on X on Thursday. “Let’s all wish this sweet young lady a beautiful journey!”
Jason Varitek and other members of the 2004 Red Sox World Series team promised to always be there for Brianna after the deaths of her father Tim Wakefield and mother Stacy Wakefield. Thursday’s gesture was another example of that as Red Sox fans in the replies were delighted to see the love and support for Brianna Wakefield, who continued to carry her family’s legacy through her support of the Jimmy Fund this year.
