ONE BIG TAKEAWAY
Boston had to bounce back after a brutal start to the homestand. The ballclub got swept in a three-game series by the Arizona Diamondbacks as well as by the Blue Jays in Monday's doubleheader.

Jarren Duran brought the needed urgency to start the game with a leadoff home run to support the pitching staff with Cooper Criswell on the mound. As the Blue Jays continuously stranded runners on the night, the Red Sox continued to add on.
After plating three runs in the first inning, the Red Sox added three more in the fifth inning including an RBI single from Wilyer Abreu. Boston's outfield had a rather productive night and not just at the plate.
Duran and Abreu each turned in crucial plays defensively to cut down runners at the plate for Toronto. Those could not have come at a more important time after the Red Sox committed six total errors on Monday.
Boston has a long way to go to return to the legitimate playoff conversation with 30 games to go, though Tuesday's style of play settled the Red Sox when they more than certainly needed it.
