TB12 is still keeping everyone on their toes
Tom Brady retired from the NFL before the 2023 season with seven Super Bowl rings — six with the New England Patriots; another with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — and nothing left to prove. He’s almost universally considered the greatest quarterback of all time.
Yet Brady continues to tease a return to the gridiron, with the latest instance coming in a vlog he shared Wednesday to social media. Fans, of course, reacted accordingly.
“I just want to make sure all those young bucks in the NFL know that if I still wanted to come out of retirement, they still got something to deal with,” a shirtless Brady said from a yacht in Italy.
Brady appears to be in great shape and very active. Hence why the person off camera asked whether he’s “just flexing for social media these days.” But it’s hard to imagine him actually returning to the NFL at age 47.
When asked how many days a week he’s throwing, Brady responded, “Zero.” Him teasing a comeback seemingly is nothing more than him trolling those who still can’t fathom that he’s done playing after dominating the league for more than two decades.
Brady, who spent 20 seasons with the Patriots and three seasons with the Buccaneers, continued to perform at a high level up until the very end. So, he almost certainly could win a few more games in the right situation. We just shouldn’t get our hopes up.
After all, Brady is on to the next stage of his life, which includes joining the FOX broadcast booth this season on a very lucrative contract.
Will he get the itch at some point, especially if he bears witness to poor quarterback play while breaking down the action? Probably. But don’t expect him to scratch it.
